Re: [USRP-users] USRP N210 Spectrum Sensing Output Issue

FFT magnitude squared bin, is a rather hand-wavey approach to estimating receiver characteristics, but it's the "easiest" and hence, somewhat comparable, approach to giving you an estimate.

From that, read/estimate max output power at given freq and gain (5 dB: ca -10 dBm, 25 dB: ca 10 dBm) 3. Estimate TX output power (5 dB -> -10dBm · 0.2 ampl: ca -24 dBm, 25 dB -> 10dBm · 0.8 ampl: ca 8 dBm) 3. Estimate power reaching the TwinRX (5 dB/cable: -10 dBm·attenuation; 25 dB/antennas: ca +8 dBm · antenna gain · path loss) 3.

Re: [time-nuts] Characterising frequency standards

Estimates of classical measures such as the mean and standard deviation from the samples diverge as the number of samples increase. Whilst attempts have been made to estimate the error due to deadtime, the corrections require that the phase noise characteristics of the 2 (or more) sources being compared are accurately known.

Re: [time-nuts] Allan Variance with an HP53132a counter

Hi, There is two types of errors done when using this type of counters, First, the delta-estimator of frequency filtering will skew the Allan deviation, mostly in the white phase noise region but the effect wears of at the length of the averaging windown of the counter.

Erie Canal alert
Sat, Aug 19, 2006 12:28 AM
The estimated saving for the Thruway Authority will be $305 million over that period. Pataki wants to make the canal part of the Empire State Greenway Alliance, linking the greenway programs of the Hudson River Valley, the Niagara River, and the Erie Canal to form the nation's largest greenway and attract tourism.

Re: GL: Boat Transport

So the $4 per foot estimate is reasonable. However, direction of travel and time of year CAN make a big difference. This same trip was quoted to me at $2,450 but earlier in the Summer before the many South-bound boaters filled the hauler's schedule. (Note: Those quoted costs did not include unstepping or stepping the mast and packing for the trip.)

Loop costs
Mon, Jan 26, 2015 11:56 AM
Add some unexpected cost contingency You can get a pretty close estimate. Remember, you already have a fixed daily cost and lifestyle (How well you eat?, drink?, smoke?, health care?, etc.) It is the differential cost of looping you look at now Fuel?, boat insurance maybe, Add a marina stay once or twice a week? And no matter what....

I do understand your point about the hinge point, ours is about 9' above the water surface and the outrigger is at an angle of about 30 degrees to the horizontal, making the end of the outrigger about 20' above the water (estimate). John Harris World Odd @ Sea

So long as the delay is the same > through all the hardware chains, the TDOA estimate will be accurate. Can I > assume the hardware delay through X300 USRPs with the same FPGA image and > set to the same sampling frequency will be the same?
