windlass wiring...

The problem is, without a estimate on amperage draw I can't calculate for the proper wire size for the 20 foot run to the battery bank. 10ga can handle 34 amps at 8ft or 45 amps at 6ft. That's fine if the battery is that close to the windlass but my run will be right at 20 ft.

Here's the place you're looking for: http://www.frontpanelexpress.com/download/index.htm You download the free program, design the panel, get an estimate, upload the order, pay by credit card and, in a week or so, get your custom panel. I used them to do my custom bilge pump monitor and control panel and loved the result. Regards.

Re: T&T: Vecter Charts and Rocks - Coastal Explorer

There is no way for the user to know for sure what the state of the tide was when the photo was taken so high tide will make many rocks invisible (local knowledge would permit an intelligent estimate. IMHO, the photo was taken near slack as the rocks are visible, but several are submerged.

He estimates that when running > seven knots on the 200 horsepower engine, the yacht's 3,030 gallons of fuel > could take it as far as 8,200 miles..." > > While I would not say that this is impossible, it certainly stretches the limits of credibility. It would take about 85 hp to move a boat this large at 7 kts.

The original estimate was far lower but once the yard really got into it, the damage was much more extensive than originally thought. If you don't own the boat yet, my advice would be to keep looking. Joyce Colwell

Update electronics - engine instruments and panels

Checked with the local yard which last spring replaced her fuel tanks, and the manager/owner estimated that the panels themselves would run about $500.00 each.

Re: [OpenSCAD] Can you sweep a object with fingers

You possibly estimates the tangents at the points and find the Bezier CPs of each polynomial arc based on the tangents and the extremes points of the arc. But then, the BezierCPs are not all interpolated and two of them for each arc control the starting end ending arc tangent.

Re: [OpenSCAD] CGAL error subtracting STL from a cube

After repairing it, the object is now appearing way off in the distance, so far away that I cannot even estimate how to bring it back to the origin.  Never had to deal with this before. Grump.
