Re: T&T: Stadimeter
Tue, Dec 6, 2005 12:16 AM
For example, it's not all that hard to come up with a reasonably close estimate of the height of a bluff or a building on shore, etc. Would a stadimeter provide an equally reasonable estimate of your boat's distance from these objects? Joel mentioned using the stadimeter to set and hold distances between ships traveling in formation.

Boat-related insurance

Now to get the detailed estimates they want from Big Top and the contractor who will reinstall my boat lift. In the end I will be building a hip roof structure rather than the large shelter I had before because a smaller boat now lives there, but USAA wants the estimate for exactly what was there. Hmmm. Well, OK.

How to recognize a PLL...

'z' becomes the estimate of frequency change over time [1/s^2] and we use it to adjust y in addition to the integral of the phase: y += (x - y) * t + z * c and we steer the oscillator as before: a * x + b * y All there is left is to find good values for a, b, c, t & s.

Re: [time-nuts] TEC party file format?

This illustrates the issue that for some cases (such as this one) occasionally recording time error (phase) is often easier and more reliable than making many uninterrupted frequency measurements and integrating them all to estimate net time error. /tvb

Motorola MC68HC11 Crystal

In my estimation, these parts should be within 30 ppm or +/- 222 Hz I do not know if the crystal pull network is running when I made these measurements. It is a possibility. It is switched in and out depending upon the radio RX frequency.

My intention is to use the average of multiple stationary mode GPS 1PPS signals to drive a single OCXO, the idea to be a better 1pps estimate. I'll upsample the inputs to get the control sample rate up.

I'm estimating between 300-500 birds total. They were still present when I got home, around 7 PM. From Brian Hiller: 08/22/09 - Manchester, Silver Lane, where it goes over I-384 -- 7:15 pm, estimated flock of 100+ Common Nighthawks. A second group of approximately 60-70 were seen about a mile down I-384.

Re: Query about 5061B performance and tuning

If you can correlate phase or frequency deviations with that of environmental sensors, such as temperature, that could help you to estimate the size of the problem. That you have 4 other 5061B is great. Hope it helps! I don't think I have a healthy tube in my 5061 in order to help you.
