Re: [time-nuts] Firmware and antenna for Stanford Research FS700 Loran C frequency standard

The "Ca. 3 Ohm" was indeed the estimated input resistance, including the series resistance of the input capacitor as I recall. Best regards Ole Den 17-07-2015 kl. 22:49 skrev Dr.

Another aspect is that the traces is on the short side for confidence intervals of the measurements have gone down, as the truncated series in itself can cause variations of the estimated value around the actual value.

Re: [time-nuts] Do ordinary clouds adversely affect GPS reception?

My current Oscilloquartz DGPS, BG7TBL DGPS and GPS + Symmetricom BCP 635 timing board setups gives me an estimated best time accuracy in the order of 5 to 50 microseconds (my own estimate -- unfortunately I don't have access to a lab with calibrated reference cesium oscillators), which is enough for my "time-nuts" hobby.

Re: [time-nuts] Is there a good web page introducing ADEV?
Wed, Sep 30, 2020 7:47 PM
ADEV is really the very specific estimation of two-point frequency estimation stability as measured over two points of frequency measures. If this is the type of measurement you want to do, it's meaningful. You can understand some properties in those terms.

Re: [CT Birds] BLACK-CHINNED HUMMINGBIRD - UPDATE

She estimated that about 150 people came to view her rare visitor between 11/2 and 11/12.  Thank you so much! We request those who saw the bird to submit a written report and/or photos to the Avian Records Committee of CT, since this was a first CT record.

Re: Testing the goodness of my GPSDO
Mon, Mar 2, 2026 10:01 PM
The GPSDO and H1 appear to exhibit similar stability near t=20k-40k seconds, and H1’s ADEV estimate goes negative in that region, possibly because H1 and H2 are being influenced by similar environmental effects that don’t affect the GPSDO.

Re: Counter internal resolution error

As you now takes f = Events/(TB-TA) estimation you actually do it with the quantized verstions of TA and TB, so error function wise you will see the effect of the sawtooth.

[Ontbirds] Hermit Warbler at Thickson's Woods
Sun, Apr 28, 2019 10:48 PM
I would estimate that more than 450 birders have left here happy after having seen the bird. Thank you to everyone for respecting private property in the area and keeping the birding community's relationship with the local residents and very pleasant and accepting one.
