Of course American Crows continue to make up a significant portion of the total individuals, and although an exhaustive effort at counting them exiting or entering their roost was not undertaken this year, a total of 125000 crows was estimated. This is well below our high of 159860 birds recorded in 2000 when we did do a major roost count.

Wet launch is "plan A" because I estimate that if I only used hoist launching I'd spend ~$5,000 per year on launch fees or ~$75,000 over a 15 years. Hoist launching once in awhile won't break the bank, so my primary concern is being able to wet launch on my local ramps and that hoist launch capability is available just encase.

CCRIDER TRIP REPORT ( Expenses) July 31
Mon, Jul 31, 2006 10:30 PM
Pat had estimated 4 nts. per month , average, in a marina and that is what we have done. I hasten to add that we did not know that we were on target until today. We have NOT limited marina stays based on allotted time as we use them when we want. We have used marinas more this month due to the oppressive heat and that is what ran up the percentage.

Rough estimate I'm pulling about 6 amps on average on warm day, less if it is cooler. At $0.12/kwh that's about $2/day and it doesn't explain why marinas next door to each other have wildly different rates.

Lengths aren't fixed, but give a realistic estimate and please don't exceed 30 minutes unless you have something special planned (in that case, contact one of us). Also, don't forget to include time for Q&A. We will typically go for 30-minute slots -- shorter talks, unless they're really short, usually tend to screw up the schedule too much.
