The modem alone is in the 500$ max. oposed to the 2 others at 1500$ to 2000$ I estimate that while Globe has thousands of accounts, Pin-Oak has a few hundred max., Mobil manages tens of boats only at a time.

Complex models of tropospheric delay require estimates or measurements of these parameters. Unmodeled ionosphere delays: 10 meters. The ionosphere is the layer of the atmosphere from 50 to 500 km that consists of ionized air.

George Beuhler designs boats that are not dis-similar in terms of construction or complexity and estimates a cost of around $15000 for a home-built "Pligrim 40". Each of these boats could be professionally built and fitted out for under $50,000 if "teak" isn't the sole abiter of the boats effectiveness.

I had gotten estimates from yards in the Annapolis area of as much as $20,000 to do the job. I have yet to calculate my cost but feel confident it was no where near that high figure. I do not profess to being an expert on FRP work. I'm happy with what turned out and only time will tell if it was done the best way.

Our best estimate is that we go category 1 winds, with possible gusts much above that. Had the hurricane come as close as was predicted, about 50 miles, then we would have had serious damage. Our evacuation experience will make for good reading when I get a chance to put it down on paper.

TWL: Inadequate Power Supply To The Bridge

I used 8 gauge to get as close to a 3% max voltage drop as possible considering the 10 to 15 amp estimated current draw of the horns. The horns now work perfectly. I have not as yet checked the voltage drop with the horns blowing, but I will at the first opportunity.

In each and every case, I got a separate oral but full debriefing from both surveyors about all the major findings immediately after the survey, including rough estimates of cost to repair. The mechanics faxed only a page of terse comments on each finding within 48 hours, often hand-written.

Most yards have no experience estimating the building of a tiny, complex boat. They add up the amount of welding, the amount of wiring, etc, but they don't fully realize the extra difficulty of working in confined spaces, and the way it limits the number of workers who can be effectively employed.

When the wave went over the edge of the concrete dam, it was estimated at 820 ft. high. It should be noted that the concrete dam suffered no damage (other than a slight spalling at the top) and is still in use today for energy generation. Does anyone have a copy of the picture Michael is referring to here?

The boat was lightly loaded including 5 adults, - I would estimate about 25% load.
