FW: [SHOREBIRDS] A Second Whimbrel Shot and Killed in Guadeloupe
Thu, Sep 15, 2011 12:57 AM
An estimated 3,000 hunters participate in the shorebird hunt annually. Currently, shooting parties on the island are not regulated and no information is available on the number of shorebirds taken. Without such information it is not possible to assess the potential relationship between hunting and ongoing population declines.

Re: [Vuecrest-list] Fwd: Attempted house intrusion.
Mon, Feb 1, 2016 3:04 PM
I would estimate the person was in our garage at 6 pm. This is north vuecrest and our garage is not street facing. He had to walk behind our house. It was a pretty bold move at that time of day. We did not see a person, but this was around in the same timeframe that I drove into the drive.

Re: [Ontbirds]..Sharp-tailed Sparrow habitat
Tue, Oct 12, 2004 3:19 PM
Such areas are almost always quite wet, and I would estimate that prime locations for Sharp-tailed Sparrows generally have from 2 to 10 inches of water. No doubt Sharp-tailed Sparrow is far more numerous than is generally realized, and that pertains to both Ontario and Michigan.
