Turbocharger Summary, Part I

That will give you a very close estimate of the power you are actually using when you are consuming that amount of fuel. Five gallons per hour is close to a hundred hp, regardless if the manufacturer rates that engine at a hundred hp or at two thousand hp.

TWL: Trailerable Trawler Update
Mon, Aug 27, 2001 1:31 PM
I estimate for a 10% grade ramp, I'd need about a 36' tongue extension to float the boat on and off without getting the truck tires into the water. Since a 36' tongue extension could not support the tongue weight, I'll need a tongue support wheel. An alternative to the tongue extension is to "rope" launch.

A world-wide rip-off?

The theory suggests there may be huge, yet-to-be-discovered reserves of oil at depths that dwarf current world estimates. The theory is simple: Crude oil forms as a natural inorganic process which occurs between the mantle and the crust, somewhere between 5 and 20 miles deep.

Re: [time-nuts] Measuring ADEV with a PM6681 or CNT-81

A good estimate can be obtained by a limited number, m, of measurements (m=*100). Root Allen variance is expressed as a quantity divided by the square of the measurements of duration t, (i.e., 3 x 10-11/*t). .

Tenn-Tom question

I normally allow for 30 minutes (estimate) lost time for locks. However, this can easily be hours if you run into a long tow that has to uncouple and go through a lock in two parts. With 12 locks that means you will lose 6 hours or probably a whole day of travel just going through locks. Now instead of 7 days you have 6 to make the 530 mile trip.

Hudson River to Georgian Bay and North Channel

This comes to about 85 days---- very rough estimate. There is the alternative of course of doing Ottawa on the return trip by going from Kingston ON via the Rideau then down the Ottawa river past Montreal and picking up the Richelieu for the Champlain route avoiding the Seaway.
