At the turn the # was around 1200 so I had a ways to go - estimate 3 miles. At that # I found a house on the right and an old orchard on the left. Scanning the tops of the area trees I immediately saw several birds high up in 1. From the road I couldn't make out what they were but they looked good.

One estimate put the number of COMMON TERNS at 6000! When the terns took up periodically, they would twist and turn in shifting unison, similar to a flock of sandpipers getting ready to land. On the ground they blanketed the beach white. Quite a sight indeed! Similar to the previous two days, OVENBIRDS and all species of THRUSHES remain common throughout.

There were some spectacular kettles, the largest which was estimated at containing close to 1000 birds. Alhtough the odd Osprey, Bald Eagle and Harrier was mixed in....no luck with anything unusual. For some visitors this was the first time they'd been able to see large kettles of Broadwings.
