I'm running version 2022.06.26.ci11957 on windows 10, all works fine
except I can't make the console window keep the text size and style I
set next time I restart the program.
In settings-advanced, I set it to Ariel black and 16, and the console
window promptly changes to that setting. However, when I next start the
program the console window reverts back to it's default setting which is
far too small for my eyes to read.
When I go back in to settings-advanced, it still says Arial black and 16.
What am I missing to make the setting stick after a program restart?

Thanks Michael- in regedit, consoleFontFamily is Arial Black and
consoleFontSize is 16 decimal, 10 hex.
I directly edited it to 22 (decimal), it didn't make any difference when
I started Openscad, still the same very small text.
I have the editor window set to the same, Arial Black and 16, that
behaves itself nicely.

And that font size problem pre-dates the update.
Was it always so, or was there an earlier version where it was normal?

Ken, I just put 2022.06.26.ci11957 on my W10 VM, it works normally for me.
Is the very small text in Arial Black, please try setting it to a visually distinctive font (eg IMPACT), to see if it also loses the font as well as the size.

Good thought, so I tried that and no, the small font is neither impact
nor arial black.
Interestingly, there is a very very brief flash of text as the console
window opens, which appears to be the arial black and bigger font size,
then it almost instantly re-writes to the small font. Makes me wonder if
windows is playing silly buggers, though why it would do that with just
one of the three openscad windows I use is beyond me.

Hmmm...
Either a Qt bug, Font problem on your system, possibly display driver but not likely.
(this rings a faint bell, I'll do a bit of searching)
the three openscad windows
This is one OpenSCAD instance with undocked preview/editor/console?
Any difference if you dock them?
Please post the Help/Library-info.

Subject: [OpenSCAD] Re: Console window text size
Good thought, so I tried that and no, the small font is neither impact nor arial black.
Interestingly, there is a very very brief flash of text as the console window opens, which appears to be the arial black and bigger font size, then it almost instantly re-writes to the small font. Makes me wonder if windows is playing silly buggers, though why it would do that with just one of the three openscad windows I use is beyond me.

Ken, I just put 2022.06.26.ci11957 on my W10 VM, it works normally for me.
Is the very small text in Arial Black, please try setting it to a visually distinctive font (eg IMPACT), to see if it also loses the font as well as the size.

And that font size problem pre-dates the update.
Was it always so, or was there an earlier version where it was normal?

Thanks Michael- in regedit, consoleFontFamily is Arial Black and consoleFontSize is 16 decimal, 10 hex.
I directly edited it to 22 (decimal), it didn't make any difference when I started Openscad, still the same very small text.
I have the editor window set to the same, Arial Black and 16, that behaves itself nicely.

I'm running version 2022.06.26.ci11957 on windows 10, all works fine except I can't make the console window keep the text size and style I set next time I restart the program.
In settings-advanced, I set it to Ariel black and 16, and the console window promptly changes to that setting. However, when I next start the program the console window reverts back to it's default setting which is far too small for my eyes to read.
When I go back in to settings-advanced, it still says Arial black and 16.
What am I missing to make the setting stick after a program restart?

Yes, one openscad instance with undocked preview/editor/console.
I tried it with them docked, it initially opens with the console in my
prefered position, then moves it to a docked position.
With it back undocked again, it definitely briefly comes up with the
desired font & size then immediately resets to the default small font.

This is one OpenSCAD instance with undocked preview/editor/console?
Any difference if you dock them?
Please post the Help/Library-info.

Good thought, so I tried that and no, the small font is neither impact
nor arial black.
Interestingly, there is a very very brief flash of text as the console
window opens, which appears to be the arial black and bigger font
size, then it almost instantly re-writes to the small font. Makes me
wonder if windows is playing silly buggers, though why it would do
that with just one of the three openscad windows I use is beyond me.

Ken, I just put 2022.06.26.ci11957 on my W10 VM, it works normally

Is the very small text in Arial Black, please try setting it to a
visually distinctive font (eg IMPACT), to see if it also loses the
font as well as the size.

And that font size problem pre-dates the update.
Was it always so, or was there an earlier version where it was normal?

Thanks Michael- in regedit, consoleFontFamily is Arial Black and
consoleFontSize is 16 decimal, 10 hex.
I directly edited it to 22 (decimal), it didn't make any difference
when I started Openscad, still the same very small text.
I have the editor window set to the same, Arial Black and 16, that
behaves itself nicely.

I'm running version 2022.06.26.ci11957 on windows 10, all works fine
except I can't make the console window keep the text size and style
I set next time I restart the program.
In settings-advanced, I set it to Ariel black and 16, and the
console window promptly changes to that setting. However, when I
next start the program the console window reverts back to it's
default setting which is far too small for my eyes to read.
When I go back in to settings-advanced, it still says Arial black
and 16.
