Harlequins,

Denver 7's is fast approaching (Next Saturday, June 27) and we need to put
together a player pool for this tournament.  We have 1 confirmed team in
the social division and we have had about 20 guys out to training this
summer.  If you are interested in playing please let me know ASAP so I can
get a roster together. If we are pushing 30 guys I would like to see us get
another team in so guys can get more than a few minutes of playing time;
but I need to know by tomorrow. You can find additional information for the
tournament at the web address below. This tournament is not covered under
summer dues and will be $20 per person.

Please reply with your confirmation to me and I will send out a list at the
end of the day.

In the 99.999% chance I don't make the Black Dragon squad I'll be there.
Guys, this is a fun tournament right in our back yard, I encourage everyone
to play.

We met our goal of 3:1 try ratio. New guy Dominique had a great day with
his speed and had 3 or 4 tries on only his second day touching a rugby
ball. We also made a new friend who is joining the team. The only blemish
was an impromptu game we played while we had downtime that we lost 3-2 but
we were not playing to the way Angus coached us.

Guys-

gentlemen of the Blue Goose are playing Vail tomorrow as well and is a good chance to get some time in. I'll be leaving town around 1030 - 11, can fit a few more and would plan to come back after if anyone wants to come up and play. Should be a fun day!

Those of you who know me, know I have never called people out on here but I have to say I am pretty disappointed in the Quins right now:

WTF am I doing helping volunteer on Sunday if everyone seems to be free to do other things this weekend? I'm in grad school, working my ass off for my job and don't even plan to play.  I do volunteer work with other groups and have a crap ton I need to do on my house. I haven't had a free weekend in 6 weeks, this being the first and I stepped up as it looked like the team needed help.

I jumped in as the silence seemed to indicate a lack of availability. Hate to say it, guys, but this is horse shit. It shows a lack of respect to the coach, team president, your fellow teammates and Old Boys to have so few responses to the call for a couple hours of volunteer help while using the same email list to plan other activities.

I get that some people have legitimate conflicts but there are WAY too many names on this chain for the amount of crickets that could be heard when asked to step up.

Apologies, if I'm off the mark here. This is just how it appears from what I've seen on these emails this past week.

Harlequins,

Denver 7's is fast approaching (Next Saturday, June 27) and we need to put together a player pool for this tournament.  We have 1 confirmed team in the social division and we have had about 20 guys out to training this summer.  If you are interested in playing please let me know ASAP so I can get a roster together. If we are pushing 30 guys I would like to see us get another team in so guys can get more than a few minutes of playing time; but I need to know by tomorrow. You can find additional information for the tournament at the web address below. This tournament is not covered under summer dues and will be $20 per person.

Please reply with your confirmation to me and I will send out a list at the end of the day.

Those of you who know me, know I have never called people out on here but I have to say I am pretty disappointed in the Quins right now: WTF am I doing helping volunteer on Sunday if everyone seems to be free to do other things this weekend? To follow up on Rob's point, this is a huge event with bus loads of people.
There's college recruiters looking for kids. Those of you that are not
taking part in the Black Dragon camp this weekend should stop by and at
least make an appearance. Wear your team gear, talk to the kids, talk to
the recruiters, network, if we have swag to give away then do that. Let's
have a strong showing and represent the club. At the end of the day it's
just hanging out at the park watching rugby, we all love that stuff.

The tournament is taking place at Aurora Sports Park, 18601 E Sports Park
Dr, Aurora, CO 80011, USA

Thanks Rob and Mikhail. This is part of the culture of this club that needs to change. I realize that we are a rugby team but also have an obligation to do more. If you want a no strings attached sport, there are plenty of kickball, softball and soccer leagues you can sign up for. With the rugby brotherhood comes work and dedication.
Cheers,Tom-
