*Fellas,  Anyone interested in running touch at Wash park tomorrow evening

05/22 @ 6/6:30 ?  Weather should be nice and a great opportunity to get a
run in before the holiday weekend.  to avoid any confusion, this is NOT a
scheduled "practice session", just to get a good run and have some fun.
Get in the habit of taking your turn bringing beers to hang and hang out a
bit after (which means if you haven't brought a 12 pack to share in a
while, it's your turn lol ) ....AK*

Also, I apologize for not making the team meeting as I was out of town.
Just a suggestion........ the team should consider running training at Wash
Park instead of Cook for any scheduled 7's training....more fun, chicks,
people, Beers and BBQ after, something a little different than the norm
making it fun, and in the event of low numbers on any day you can still
have fun just running touch......again, just a suggestion.  AK

I'm in for touch tomorrow and every tues/thurs at 6pm for the rest of the
summer. It is always a good time. I tend to be distracted by shiny things
in spandex on the sidelines. Go to 7's if you want to play seven's, come to
touch if you want to play touch. Either way you are going to get a run in
and learn some skills, especially if you are not very experienced The old
fellas are happy to give you pointers-Maves/Doc especially...
. I'm also playing mtn league with breck or baabaas. Whatever you do get
running, get lifting and play some rugby. Don't do it for me...do it for
the ladies....

I figure that the team is on top of this, but it won't hurt to broach the
subject.  I assume that permitting for the Harlequins playing rugby in Wash
Park has been handled.  I wasn't sure if anything had changed for rugby,
but I heard that they changed things up for volleyball.  I also heard that
only 3.2% beer is allowed in Denver Parks, and that it would be enforced by
Denver Park Rangers.  Has the team heard of this or am I misinformed?
Anyway, I thought it was worth the discussion to look out for the
Harlequins.

http://www.washpark.com/info/washpark-rules-and-regulations/

"88. RUGBY: Allowed only by permit, and in specific use areas. (Section 39
20(a) (1)(2)(3)(4)(8) and Section 39 20(b) RMC) See, also, Page 38 under
Section XII."

Bullet,
You are correct. There has been for several years, a rule that only 3.2% beer is allowed at any Denver park without a permit.
And any organized team sport must have a permit to train as a team on any reservable field.

I do not think we can pull off actual trainings at Wash Park without a permit. Touch works as we dont need a specific area and is open to the public..

Thanks for the concern!

I figure that the team is on top of this, but it won't hurt to broach the subject.  I assume that permitting for the Harlequins playing rugby in Wash Park has been handled.  I wasn't sure if anything had changed for rugby, but I heard that they changed things up for volleyball.  I also heard that only 3.2% beer is allowed in Denver Parks, and that it would be enforced by Denver Park Rangers.  Has the team heard of this or am I misinformed?  Anyway, I thought it was worth the discussion to look out for the Harlequins.

Fellas,   Anyone interested in running touch at Wash park tomorrow evening 05/22 @ 6/6:30 ?  Weather should be nice and a great opportunity to get a run in before the holiday weekend.  to avoid any confusion, this is NOT a scheduled "practice session", just to get a good run and have some fun.  Get in the habit of taking your turn bringing beers to hang and hang out a bit after (which means if you haven't brought a 12 pack to share in a while, it's your turn lol ) ....AK

Also, I apologize for not making the team meeting as I was out of town.  Just a suggestion........ the team should consider running training at Wash Park instead of Cook for any scheduled 7's training....more fun, chicks, people, Beers and BBQ after, something a little different than the norm making it fun, and in the event of low numbers on any day you can still have fun just running touch......again, just a suggestion.  AK

Bullet, You are correct. There's been rumors, I don't know if this is being enforced, but even
casual volleyball get togethers now need a permit. If they have a bug up
their collective ass about volleyball then they won't like us playing touch
either

I think we may be over thinking training/touch at the park....it's no
different than quickly marking out a field for touch and
playing....nobody's putting lines down or trying to reserve a specific
field......
