MVUS Annual Meeting and Picnic

JB
Jim Bacher
Fri, Jul 19, 2019 1:22 AM

The August MVUS meeting will be the annual picnic, measurement event and
election of officers. The normal monthly meeting at MCL will not be held in
August. The picnic will be on Saturday August 24 starting at about 11 AM at
Daun Yeagley's home. Daun's GPS and street address:

39.506953, -83.862522
1353 Gurneyville Rd
Wilmington Oh 45177

Bring a side dish or dessert for maybe 6 people. Burgers, brats and drinks
courtesy of MVUS.

If you want any testing done, contact N8ZM at n8zm@mvus.org. He needs to
know what you want to test and the frequency range. Preamps, antennas,
power amps. SWR bridges, power supplies, meters, whatever. Just let Tom
know so we can have the right test gear available.

Adapters for anything other than N, PL259, or SMA would be helpful.
Anything upto 6 GHz is easy above that advanced notice is definitely needed.

Bring a couple chairs as well.

If you need additional details contact Tom Holmes or Jim Bacher.

I'm sure we can gin up a setup to test it.   I've got power meters and
loads up to 100W.  I could press my IC-7300 into service for a source,
but if you want to bring a rig that would be fine also.

I have repaired these before. There are, or should be trimmer pots
inside to adjust the needle readings.
No need to send it off for re-cal.
I did a quick search and I found the calibration document:

Hi Brett...
We just need a couple of transmitters(Hf and vhf), a dummy load and a known good wattmeter(I have a Bird). That should do it.
Don’t know why diode would pop unless way over powered.

I have repaired these before. There are, or should be trimmer pots inside to adjust the needle readings.
No need to send it off for re-cal.
I did a quick search and I found the calibration document:

Hi Tom,
I have been wanting to come for years, maybe this is the year.
Will you guys be doing antenna measurements? At 70cm? If so, I would
like to bring my homebrewed yagi with me.
