Non need to apologize, thank you for your help.
I asked Telford for a quote early this week, the
price is not low, eventually I'll order from them.

I disconnected the jumper like as before...

Another update, maybe if someone wants to buy from Telford
wants to know what happens to me:
Telford answered me 6/mar and was helpful, also we agreed
on the price (2 manuals instead of one :),
8/mar I sent the payment trough paypal.
12/mar I sent a mail, asking fot aknowledgment of payment,
delivery date etc,
no more answers so far :(
Now I hope at least I'll receive the manuals soon, I'll let you
know.

Little update: tried shorting SP2 jumper but the meter stops
reading DC volts, like if the input is disconnected, no more tests
on this, I disconnected the jumper like as before...
strange ?

Finally the manual saga ended :
today the 7061 maintenance manual arrived,
it's photocopied (or laser printed maybe),
very clean and readable.

I had only the time to read superficially,
but I liked the description of temperature
compensaiton for the reference diode,
now I only need a controlled climatic chamber
to play with :)

I received as bonus a 7075 operator manual
original (not photocopied), it will be
nice companion to the 7075 that I received
recently.

Hi, Fabio!
Zener TC correction in the 7061 and 7071/7081 is very simple. Recently I wrote a
small article about TC correction methods in precision DMMs and calibrators:
http://www.radiokot.ru/forum/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=52829&start=60 (sorry, but in
Russian). It is possible to achieve 0.1 ppm/C temperature drift by choosing the
proper coefficients of the quadratic function. But 7061 maintenance manual -
it's amazing!

Thank you Mikle.
I tried to read your post usign google translator,
as far as I understand it a very interesting article,
if you have time you should translate it.
If I understand correctly the firmware corrects for
temperature using a temperature sensor near the reference,
and a parabolic model.
The drift correction the instrument performs about
every 15minutes should be just this?
You mention the SZA263, some time ago I searched info about it
but no luck, (I have one here in a fluke 8520, that has
a mean time to fail of few hours :).
Also you show a solartron 7075 disassembled reference,
this evening I was just contemplating this exact component
(I was disassembling and cleaning a 7075, I'll show
some pics on this post:
http://www.eevblog.com/forum/product-reviews-photos-and-discussion/solartron-7075-(or-will-i-be-able-to-reassemble-it-)/ )
you
saved me from the tentation to disassemble it.
If I understand correctly the 7061 has not the DAC but
the thermal compensation cal is made by hand closing some
solder bridges.
Now I don't have much time and I'm waiting another programmer,
in future I'll try to understand better the 7061, as far as my knowlede
permits.

Fabio.

P.S.
7061 manual: very interesting but a little pricey, this hobby
is becoming dangerous for my wallet :)

Hi, Fabio!
Zener TC correction in the 7061 and 7071/7081 is very simple.
Recently I wrote a
small article about TC correction methods in precision DMMs and calibrators:
http://www.radiokot.ru/forum/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=52829&start=60
(sorry, but in
Russian). It is possible to achieve 0.1 ppm/C temperature drift by
choosing the
proper coefficients of the quadratic function. But 7061 maintenance manual -
it's amazing!

Thank you Mikle. I tried to read your post usign google translator, as far as I understand it a *very* interesting article, if you have time you should translate it. If I understand correctly the firmware corrects for temperature using a temperature sensor near the reference, and a parabolic model. The drift correction the instrument performs about every 15minutes should be just this? You mention the SZA263, some time ago I searched info about it but no luck, (I have one here in a fluke 8520, that has a mean time to fail of few hours :). Also you show a solartron 7075 disassembled reference, this evening I was just contemplating this exact component (I was disassembling and cleaning a 7075, I'll show some pics on this post: http://www.eevblog.com/forum/product-reviews-photos-and-discussion/solartron-7075-(or-will-i-be-able-to-reassemble-it-)/ ) you saved me from the tentation to disassemble it. If I understand correctly the 7061 has not the DAC but the thermal compensation cal is made by hand closing some solder bridges. Now I don't have much time and I'm waiting another programmer, in future I'll try to understand better the 7061, as far as my knowlede permits. Fabio.
