They said no and agreed to write this on one of their estimate forms. I faxed this to the adjuster and he paid for both props.

Re: [time-nuts] DMTD Mixer Terminations

Whilst your corrected measurements for the 10534 and 10514 are now within about 10% of those found by NIST for one of their mixers, the discrepancy with Minicircuits estimates for the RPD-1s is somewhat larger but their phase detector gain specs seem incompatible with their max output specs.

For similar measurements it would be nice with an incremental display, which is feasable for some configs as not all data is needed unless you need to calculate a frequency estimate. Cheers, Magnus

Re: [time-nuts] Z3801A's

So my estimate for a Z3801A is ballpark of $250. Maybe more if you are willing to wait longer, less if you need to unload them quickly. --------- Does anybody know what "Z3801A has been upgraded by us, which the feature is the same as 58503A." really means? -- These are my opinions, not necessarily my employer's. I hate spam.

Offhand I'd estimate it would be easier for some "bad guys" to put a crude A-bomb on top of a SCUD and put America into the horse and buggy age with an EMP attack than to take out a significant number of GPS satellites. NLK in Washington state has been off the for almost two months now.

In this context, it's important to remember that there are 2 parameters associated with the goodness of clocks. The first is the error.

The later should be accompanied by some quality measure > of how much remaining systematics there is (see Jim Barnes PTTI paper on > Drift Estimators). Do you mean "The measurement of linear frequency drift in oscillators", http://tf.nist.gov/timefreq/general/tn1337/Tn264.pdf ?

nuts about position (cheap receiver)

The post-processed lat/lon/alt values differed around 1/1/3 meters better than the self-survey values (with estimated error ellipses of 0.17/0.15/0.4 meters). Those results were with the "ultra rapid" orbits. It will be interesting to see what they look like when the final precise orbits are available in a couple of weeks.

Re: [volt-nuts] Trimming the LTZ1000 tempco
Sat, Oct 1, 2011 8:13 AM
A rough estimation: Change in Ic when R1 is set from 0 to max value 200 ohms is equivalent to changing the 70k resistor to 60k. I haven't prototyped or simulated, so there can be more complex interactions that I haven't included. Maybe it is not even possible to "null" the tempco in a way simple temperature compensated zeners allow to do that?
