Re: [time-nuts] Daft idea with the National Grid
Mon, Feb 8, 2021 12:41 PM
ADEV is a poort estimator for this. ADEV was meant of noise power estimation, but power-grid is mainly systematics (pseudo-random/systematic) and feedback-loops on to counter that. There is other tools in the toolbox for that. There is a wealth of tools to cover that. > How much energy is in the rotating turbine and generator?

Back from Texas, took inventory in Boston Hollow, Ashford

Below is a copy of the Ebird report I submitted; note that if I mentioned more than four or five of a species the numbers are most likely estimates, the idea being to show relative abundance. And some of these numbers are higher than they would have been for me in most previous years.

Boston Hollow/Yale Forest; Returning Osprey on nests

I reported 30 Pine Warblers and that's a very conservative estimate. They are singing in virtually every pine grove I visited today, in some cases so many they seemed all around. Those would be just males and I don't know if the females are back yet. There is already an exceptional number of Yellow-bellied Sapsuckers.

Re: Cost of Owner"Ship"

Just for grins, I took their data and tried to make my own estimate (sound familiar) for living on our KK-42 for a full year. I know a few of the costs from the last six month of ownership, but most are SWAGs. (The couple's report/My estimate) for cruising a year.

But he said he was within maybe 15 miles of where he thought he was Basically your estimated course line intersected with a line of latitude gives you longitude.

Using Timelab with Frequency Data (Long)
Sat, Dec 29, 2018 5:50 PM
I have checked this statically with specific input frequencies generated by an HP 8642A signal generator and it appears to provide a good estimate of the frequency. The algorithm wraps every Hz, so I use the poorer estimation of the peak to decide which Hz offset the frequency actually is.

TWGL: Great Loop Budget
Tue, Dec 3, 2002 5:50 AM
My initial estimate is 40K for the year. I arrived at this number by assuming $100 per day x 365 = $36,500 plus 3,500 for fuel and minor repairs. We don't want to anchor out every night and skip all the good restaurants, however we don't plan to spend every night in a marina hooked up to electricity and cable TV ether.

We are requiring all boats that are stored on the hard be shrink wrapped and this is a rough estimate on shrink wrap $1,000 ???? Mechanic time to check engines is at $79.00 per hour. ? You can not stay aboard the boat when it is on the hard and all work must be done by our boat yard. ? Let me know if you want me to take your reservation. ?
