I can only estimate around 50 BALTIMORE ORIOLES throughout the day. There were a few ORCHARD ORIOLES as well. Certainly a myriad of colours to enjoy. Other highlights today included at least six male BOBOLINK near the airport fence on Hanlan's.

Two24v FloJet 4105-343 shower drain pumps

I estimate these pumps have between 50 and 100 hours on them, and all of that has been with fresh water in a hot tub (they came out of a YachTub system, for the curious).

As things turned out, the winds were less than expected, my estimate is only 40-50 mph. We were in one of the heaviest rain areas, though, about 12" in a day and a half. The narrow river gave good protection from the NE winds, and the waves never got over a foot.

On that trip, the seas were about 20 to 25 feet and the wind was estimated at about 50 knots. It was a real experience for me and the Secretary of the Navy in my household who was also along on the trip. It is still a vivid and hair raising memory for Eileen and I.

Something like 4.5KW/1t (6hp/2,222lb) as estimation of enginepower. Burkhard Becker (D) >> In the sailing community there is a rule of thumb that implies that 27 sq. ft. of sail in a 20 kt. wind is equivalent to one hp. at the propeller. You would need about 162 sq. ft. to meet your requirements.

They have estimated that they will have 80 nm of reserve fuel when arriving, based on worst case scenario fuel consumption. Some questions: 1. According to the ships actual calculated fuel burn and reserve....900+ gallons gets you only 2405 nm at 5 - 6 knots....not even close to the specifications stated above....am I missing something?

TWL: heat exchanger cleaning

I was flabbergasted to get a bill for $150, but I had not asked for an estimate. Also, they had not pressure tested the unit, which I had asked for. More recently, I took the same exchanger to a radiator shop in Burlington, VT to be pressure tested as I had a small coolant leak I could not find anywhere else.

You have to estimate your load (use)...Figure your daily load in amp hours and plan to keep it under 50% of your battery capacity...absolute max of 600-amp hours daily.

You record your "D R" position every 15 minutes on the chart--and you keep a log of compass course, speed, estimate current etc. Triangulatoin and other bearing methods on known lights will help. RDF is not perticularly valuable in that there are no longer coastal beacons with synchronized fog horns. You will be using commercial radio stations.
