[Ontbirds] Niagara Falls OFO trip summary - December 2, 2018
Tue, Dec 4, 2018 1:28 AM
We did not take an exact count of attendees, but we estimate that this event was attended by approximately 100 birders. This was a bit less than last year, likely due to the rainy weather forecast for Sunday morning. That rainy weather ceased before we started, and the sun even came out for a good portion of the day!

[Ontbirds] Happy Word Wetlands Day

But recent estimates show these benefits are under threat, as wetlands continue to disappear. But you can help. By participating in the Great Lakes Marsh Monitoring Program you can conserve wetlands-one of North America's most important - and threatened - ecosystems.

The list for repairs is long and I could not give you any idea of an estimate. The best people are spoken for at least a year ahead. In fact they have not yet started working on their own boats. There are still several dozen boats in peoples yards--50 or more feet from the water. Island Cove Marina is full.

Cost of looping-grounding

And if you try to walk away, there will be any number of agencies to cause you grief, from simple administrative fines, which can go into 6 figures very quickly, to actually arresting you and putting you in jail-till you make bond, which in some cases is based on an estimate of the clean up costs.

Don't be in a hurry to leave the Great Lakes

Estimate this activity will be completed this morning. When this is completed, the gate and the Shreve will be moved from the main chamber. Following the removal of the gate and the Shreve, lockages will begin at the main lock using the Corps? maintenance closure "caisson."

Re: [USRP-users] RFNoC SVD Block

There's a lot of interesting papers out there on SVD implementations for fixed point math on FPGAs, I think Drexel uni had some interesting stuff for SVD-based channel estimation for OFDM. I've not seen any code of them, though... So, from an algorithmic point of view, an SVD isn't too hard.

Re: [USRP-users] Setting up an X310 as a signal generator

As I am working from home at the moment I do not have access to a spectrum analyzer, Is there anyway I can use any of the QT GUI blocks in gnuradio to determine a rough estimate? I know that the values you set are just values and that you have to determine how they correspond to actual values, but is there a way to do that mathematically?
