That is indeed not a good channel state information estimator. You'd typically want to send a signal that fills the whole bandwidth of the system you want to use the channel with. Depending on your receive software architecture, detection of packets before sync might be easy or not. So, that's up to *you* to decide.

The C&V always contains an Economic Analysis section, in which the surveyor estimates the market value of the vessel. He uses actual experience, market data, includes BUC and NADA values (worthless), etc. This section of my survey was very complete since I am an economist by profession!

We got an estimate to repower our Carver with diesels and it was well over $40,000. We agree with you, that all things being equal, gasoline is less expensive unless you plan full time cruising and live aboard life style.

I estimate our roll at at least 20-25 degrees. Everything that was not tied down went to the starboard side of the boat and lots of little trinkets and souvenirs were destroyed.
