Teaching Young People

He learned to use the radar, plot the course and speed and estimate CPA. With that he would make course changes and evaluate the results to achieve the acceptable separation. If the situation did not conform to our guidelines, he would wake me and I would generally make suggestions, which he would carry out.

I estimate that it will take 30-45 days to publish a temporary Final Rule and an additional 120 days for the requisite notice and comment period to effect a permanent amendment to the RNA.

With 195 HP and fuel capacity of 1925 gallons estimated range at 8 knots of 3077 miles--if if dropped down to 7 knots, that range shoots up to over 5500 NM!

Re: T&T: Battery Problem

I estimate they are at approximately 400 amps. My impression is that these batteries are not suitable for the marine market. I will be replacing them in the next 2 months with Trojans.

That labor estimate also assumes that you have removed the sound shield (if you have one) and the flywheel safety cover (so the mechanic can attach a piece of reflective tape to the flywheel to run his tachometer) before the mechanic arrives. Of course, you'll have to put that stuff back, too.

ICW Currents and Nobeltec (was Rules of Thumb)
Thu, Oct 10, 2013 1:38 PM
I'd estimate that I've covered close to 50,000 miles relying on Nobeltec as my primary navigation software. Nobeltec's treatment of currents in its edition 10.7 (released in 2010) was state of the art. I have not looked at every program out there, to be sure, but as far as I have found nobody else does it as well as Nobeltec did in that release.

In my estimation the premiums for the year that this change occurred should be maybe half of the premium of the previous year.

Look up sustained write speeds for a better estimate. I'd recommend writing to /var/volatile/tmp or /run since you won't run into a bottleneck of write speed writing to the ram-disk, just file size.

Re: [USRP-users] Received power changing in sinusoidal manner

I should try to estimate it a bit more precisely, since I might get some clue. Anyway, on Monday, I would try a couple of things and then I can also try with another set of N210s and SBX boards. This would eliminate hardware issues or defects in the present set of radios. I would write what I got.
