I'd estimate at least 6 birds. I also noted these birds do a little hiccup noise interspersed with their peenting & was able to visually confirm when one landed about 15' from me & I could watch the bill open for the peent then the breast & shoulder twitch with the hiccup.

Over less than a half hour, we estimated approximately 8000 individuals. It was the first time we noticed this particular migration phenomenon, here. Eileen and Kevin Finnan Goshen

He is viewing it from the EAST side of the river, a mile or so (VERY rough estimate) north of the downtown iron bridge. The view is from the parking lot of MedInstill. I find that to be at 201 Housatonic Ave. If approaching the iron bridge from the east, turn north just before the bridge and follow the road that runs along the river.

[Ontbirds] Snow Geese Glengarry County
Wed, Apr 14, 2004 10:48 PM
There were thousands of birds (at least 10,000 I hazard to estimate) in three major groups. In the glinting sun of evening light, they made for an awesome spectacle. Of the several hundred birds that flew directly overhead, only a very small percentage were "blues."

[Ontbirds]Bohemian Waxwings, Ottawa

The group was spread out and numbers were very hard to estimate, but I'll guess 25-30. They were on the north side (occasionally) of the Ottawa River Parkway, in trees on the wide median, and especially on the south side. This was just east of the parking lot on the south-east side of the Champlain Bridge.

[Ontbirds] all 3 scoter sp in Fort Erie

There was lots of movement of the birds so it was difficult to estimate. We also saw 100 or more Long-tailed Ducks. Good birding Marcie Jacklin Fort Erie Directions: QEW to Fort Erie, exit at Central Avenue, turn right on Central; right on Lakeshore, drive about 2 km to Adelaide St and use the viewing area.

>>...I just received an estimate of $20,000 for shipping a 44' boat weighing >24,000 lbs. from Australia to Georgia...<< Tom.... That's about 83 cents per pound. I had thought that surface shipping would be cheaper than that. Maybe not.

TWL: Wire gauge
Wed, Feb 23, 2000 8:16 PM
I think I'll go with the 10 gauge wire to help insure against voltage drop in a hot engine room environment, and just in case the run is longer than I estimate. Maybe this is how it starts... a small inverter so we can watch TV quietly.
