Re: [time-nuts] Allan variance Vs Plain Old Accuracy

Allan variance metrics address this issue by providing a theoretically sound means of extracting and estimate of the type of power-law noise processes present as well as the intensity. On a log-log Allan Variance plot, the type of noise is identified by the slope in the region the noise dominates.

We estimate that we could save as much as 1.20 kWh (100 Ah) per day. This is two-thirds of an hour of generator running time, which would bring our charging time more into line with our water making time. Secondly, we increase the amount of battery charging capacity to 300 amperes.

The cell phone was just an estimate for size and weight since people do not generally complain, nowadays about the weight and volume.

We estimate it has taken about 1000 locks for us to figure this system out. The night was spent at Fort Edward, with a brand new wall about 400 feet long with free water and electricity available. Fort Edward is boater friendly with several good eating spots.

Using this information, you can make a good estimate of just how much horsepower you are using to drive your boat if you keep a record of how much fuel you burn per hour. If your bsfc shows 0.35 at your cruising RPM and you burn 2 gallons per hour, your engine is producing 2 * 20 = 40 horsepower (approx). I suspect that result is a surprise.

I estimated they were 30 feet. We decided to keep one hour watches. I went to bed around 2:30 for a quick nap and to warm up under the covers. I awoke around 3:30 to first a hard hit by a wave, so hard it literally felt as though we had been hit by a train while sitting on the tracks.
