Re: [time-nuts] nuts about position
Mon, Apr 30, 2018 7:34 PM
Therefor something like a two, three, or four day survey will enhance your position estimate. Again - for all get gory details dig into the archives. Since the timing is done against the module’s “best estimate” of it’s position, there isn’t a lot of benefit in having a surveyed correct position instead.

At hull speed (7-8kts) fuel consumption drops considerably (estimate 3-4 gph, but we have not cruised long enough at that speed to get an accurate fuel consumption calculation). We start the loop May 24, with our radar arch we are at 17' above water line so will face some height restrictions, we think it will be fine but soon will find out.

Siskins galore!
Sat, Jan 3, 2009 2:10 PM
He estimates well over 100 plus Siskins up there. Many Siskins plus juncos were eating the seeds on the snow below as well. When you have these birds in numbers, look within for possible Redpolls. Paul Carrier

I last saw and heard the estimated 5000 TREE SWALLOWS in the trees just east of the new pavilion and south of the reclamation area. When I first arrived at the park at about 12:30, they were flying in a tight tornado-like formation near the first rotary. Very cool to see,yet no one seemed to be paying any attention. [Ontbirds] pine grosbeaks, Glenburnie, update
Sat, Feb 21, 2009 2:48 PM
I estimate about 20 in the flock, they swarmed around and went around the house before I could get an accurate count. There were also some pine siskins mixed in with a small flock of goldfinches. Glenburnie, north of Kingston, near the corner of Unity Rd. and Hwy 10 (Perth Rd.) Rose-Marie
