Re: GL: Anticipated repair date to levee break in GIWW cut betweenDestin and Panama City MM265

The waterway will be closed until approximately July 22, according to an officer at Coast Guard Sector Mobile, who added, "it's a very rough estimate."

N310: Channel pairs are drifting in phase whith external LO setup
Fri, Mar 22, 2019 9:31 AM
We chosed it for an application that needs perfectly constant phases between all four channels to build up DOA estimation applications. I’ve set up an N210 as a signal source, outputting a sine round about 1.5GHz feeding a 4-way splitter that than feeds all four input channels of the N310.

E310 filter settings and LO lock question
Sun, Sep 15, 2019 1:17 PM
And what would be the (estimated) changeover time between filters? LO lock – I tried to detect if LO is locked after a tune request using the UHD manual as a reference. If I include the following directly after a tune request nothing is printed: while (!usrp->get_rx_sensor("lo_locked").to_bool()) std::cout << "PLL unlocked!"

Anyone notice a surge in R T Hummers?
Thu, Aug 23, 2007 11:34 PM
Now I have seen as many as 8 at one time and I'm guessing that 16 to 20 total would be a conservative estimate. I have them fighting 3 and 4 at a time over a single feeder, and often all 8 are in use. I added 2 to the 6 I had up.

Stratford, American Golden Plover
Tue, Sep 16, 2008 5:44 PM
The most interesting thing to me was a large mass (I estimated at 1500 to 2000) of tree swallows which came in very high overhead from the Southwest. They flew to the Northeast, gradually descending until they reached the top of the Spartina alterniflora growing in the marsh.

Sunrise Bird Walk - Strartford - Mega Scaup flocks

I spoke to Jim Dugan in Stratford and he, Patrick and Frank Gallo had noticed the same phenomenon at Shippan Point earlier in the day - their estimate was 3,500 birds. Luke Tiller, Wilton www.underclearskies.com

Horned Larks and Snow Buntings in Mansfield
Tue, Jan 20, 2009 10:05 PM
Trying to get a count was impossible but I estimate there were 400 to 500 birds or more, perhaps 300 to 400 Horned Larks and 50 to 100 Snow Buntings. I didnt have my scope and it was after 4 PM so if anything else was mixed in I couldn't see them.

Milford black tern
Thu, Aug 12, 2010 8:31 PM
Most of the terns were flying beyond the breakwater, which partly blocked the view, and as they were in the air (and it was hazy) I was conservative in my estimates.  There could easily have been a couple of thousand out there. Chris Elphick Storrs, CT elphick@sbcglobal.net

Siskins in NE corner

But today I estimate I had between 30 and 40. Showing up this late I think there is a decent chance they will stay around for a while. Oddly, only one of the birds I got a good look at had any appreciable amount of yellow on it. Seems to me about half the ones we had 2 years ago were quite yellow. Maybe later in the season?
