BASED ON DROPSONDE AND FLIGHT-LEVEL DATA FROM AN AIR FORCE PLANE JUST RETURNING FROM ITS MISSION IN WILMA...THE MINIMUM CENTRAL PRESSURE IS ESTIMATED TO BE 882 MB...26.05 INCHES. THIS IS THE LOWEST PRESSURE ON RECORD FOR A HURRICANE IN THE ATLANTIC BASIN.

Marine Trader 49 capsizes in Calibogue Sound
Fri, Apr 7, 2006 12:06 PM
The wake was estimated to be 4.5 feet, observers claim the MT was listing to one side before the wake hit. (Captain disagrees.) All passengers were rescued in 8 minutes (remarkable) by "Samaritans." Complete story: http://www.islandpacket.com/news/local/story/5639512p-5062263c.html.

But for $15 or so, I would estimate it is well worth having. Keep in mind that you may not be able to put into practice the techniques presented, but at least you will know how the coast guard does it. And it will give you ideas..... Book Details http://www.abebooks.com/servlet/BookDetailsPL?

I estimated that roll was reduced by about 60% while top speed was reduced by about a knot from 11 to 10 knots. I continue to think that it was the best money I spent on the boat. Terry Ex-Tamarack

Regarding noise power calculation using SBX board
Mon, Feb 18, 2013 1:33 PM
hi, I am trying to estimate noise power without injecting any signal in SBX board with USRP N210. 1. Carrier frequency is 2.452GHz with BW of 10MHZ. 2. Gain = 0dB and using Tx/Rx port. noise power = (sum of 64 samples of amplitude squared)/64. I am getting around -78 dB. If I try to evaluate dBm/Hz, I am getting -78 - 70 = -148 dB/Hz.

Just got a call back and they know about the problem, but no estimated time to fix it.

The radomes are pressure tight and in my estimation would hold at least two atmosphere of pressure in either direction. I think this is pretty common for GPS antenna. Spend $30 and buy a "real" outdoor GPS antenna and it will have a pointed top and will be 100% sealed. Mount it on the end of a 1" iron pipe the cable goes down the pipe.
